Basic Bots Finalized!
I've tested the basic bot functions both locally and on Era #1. While they're still pretty dumb compared to real players, they're not the main focus in VoidVerse right now—more of an additional feature. The bots are originally a feature to entertain players in early till midgame. I will extend them at some point so they can trade and react too. This is a testrun. So I may add the Void as a standalone faction later too. *wink*
What bots currently do:
As of now, they fully cover the 4X pillars: eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate.
They operate with an internal aggression ranking system. Every action you take against them affects your standing—positive, neutral, or negative. Attacking a bot will always increase the tradeoff cost, regardless of its playstyle. Once provoked, it will actively try to hunt down your fleets and resources for as long as it can and destroy and take more than you did until it reached a satisfying threshold.
I also managed to improve the internal game handler again, which reduced server load a bit.
Next, I'll focus on finalizing the government system for the upcoming patch, then shift attention to commanders and Void bosses.
